In this one day workshop – Sylvia Duckworth will share her expertise to create a rich form of learning you can use with students at any age. In this session, we will dig into the idea and background around visual note-taking for educators. From what sketchnoting is to how it can be used to make student thinking and understanding visible.
We will take a look at the research and neuroscience that supports this type of learning. Then, we will look at how to begin sketchnoting with students in the classroom – looking at the foundations of visual note-taking, working from a bank of icons that can be easily used and manipulated by students. You won’t only learn how to use this skill with your students- you may even leave a sketchnoter yourself!
